One of our apple trees gave more fruit than I had expected when starting to pick. I had started out by taking a good sized bucket, thinking that it would be large enough. Rapidly, I realised that I would need something larger and so went and got a wooden crate. Even this was barely big enough, as can be seen in this photo.

Now, to get this crate I had to go up into the attic. There I found that I had forgotten the previous years collect (or was it the year before that even ?). Here is what greeted me -
Didn’t take long before the thought came to me – this is what happens when we do not use the gifts God has given to us.
The good news is that these same gifts can be revived, renewed. As Paul said to Timothy «… I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you …» (2 Timothy 1 v 6, NIV

They will soar on the wings of … ducks (?) … hmmm, I think I need to verify the quote here.
Ah, no, sorry, eagles, not ducks -
«those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.» Isaiah 40 v31
Here is my first attempt at taking birds in flight. It would seem that I was too far away, the light was too low (exposure too long). I had to crop this quite a bit to be able to see sufficient detail. Still learning …

The promise of a pleasant walk took us to a beach on the eastern side of the Mont Saint Michel. Upon arriving we saw the beach rolling with an incoming sea fog.
This, slight, inconvenience did not deter us however. We bravely walked along the beach, the fog rolling in from the sea along with a good westerly wind for company. A rather eerie experience which the camera had difficulty in giving due justice.

A church in foggy Victorian London ? Lit by incandescent gas lamps in a good pea-souper ?
No, simply the local church in a night fog here in Brittany.
